Hire the right person

“The best candidate on paper is the right person for the job.”

There is not a single grain of truth in this sentence. We appreciate the logic behind it. The things that you find on a resume or skills assessment are quantifiable and, more importantly, easy to distinguish between candidates. To find the right person for the job, we need to get away from what’s on paper and find new ways to inspect important intangibles attributes like cultural fit, communication style, these factors play a massive role in whether a candidate will sink or swim.

Understanding Personality in Interviews

Personality interview allows aspirants to demonstrate their practicality for a company's culture. After learning about hard skills and qualifications, a hiring manager may want to assume what soft skills candidate has and how his/her personality can contribute to the job's duties.

Interviewers may ask personality questions to recognize a candidate's work habits, collaboration strategies and curiosities outside of work. Hiring managers ask questions to assume the level of self-awareness and how open you are to self-improvement.

A personality interview allows understanding about social skills, including collaboration, teamwork and leadership. Qualities such as independent work ethic, dedication and strong decision making can all be formulated in personal life and put into action in a skilled setting.
