What is a Huddle?

Team Huddles are short meetings where each team member shares their number one priority of the day and important updates. These meetings keep team members informed of important information, help hold people accountable, and allow for sharing of collective intelligence.

The purpose of team Huddles is to drive employee engagement and to serve as a self-correcting measure to keep the company on the path toward achieving its goals. Sharing issues or priorities with the team will lead to the sharing of ideas and solutions by others. When huddles are used correctly they can help create a sense of cohesion, drive accountability, and lead to superior results. It also enables managers and leaders to check-in with team members about what your day will look like. An effective morning huddle is a chance for your team members to share information with each other and deliver project status checks.

At a growing company, huddles are an effective way for people to get to know each other better. They come to feel that they have support from their colleagues and a place to take their concerns.

At OpenGrowth we have come up with the Huddle dashboard on our Hub platform. Which is a visual representation of:

  • Top 3 tasks
  • Priority
  • Stuck
