On 10th January 2021, during the virtual Consumer Electronics Show(CES) 2021, Lenovo unveiled smart glasses that project your Windows desktop screen in Midair, ThinkReality A3.

Lenovo claims this product to be one of the most advanced and versatile enterprise smart glasses to come to market.

Lenovo's New smart glasses ThinkReality A3 are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 Platform which ensures the high-quality performance of AR. They feature stereoscopic 1080p displays with the option for a user to present up to 5 virtual displays. The new smart glasses come with 8 Megapixel RGB cameras that can provide 1080p videos for remote expert use cases along with dual fish-eye cameras for room-scale tracking.

Lenevo said, “ThinkReality A3 is part of a comprehensive digital solution offering to deliver intelligent transformation in business and bring smarter technology to more people.”

Due to pandemic, the workspaces have largely shifted to virtual or remote spaces. Businesses around the world are looking to adopt new technologies for smart collaborations, smooth functioning, and increased efficiency of the organisation overall.

According to Lenovo, new glasses ThinkReality A3 can be used for multiple purposes like customized virtual monitors, 3D visualization, Augmented Reality (AR) assisted workflows, and immersive training which can help transform work across many levels of the enterprise.

Virtual monitors are optimized and compatible with Lenovo’s ThinkPad laptops and mobile workstations powered by Intel and AMD Ryzen processors.

Industrial Edition

The ThinkReality A3 Industrial Edition tethers to select Motorola smartphones. Users can experience hands-free, AR-supported tasks in complex work environments. This Edition of smart glasses supports ThinkReality software. The ThinkReality platform powers remote assistance, guided workflows, and 3D visualization.

It is specially designed for Enhanced Decision Making in Complex Work Environments while decreasing error rates in daily tasks.

While the ThinkReality A3 frame looks geeky and heavy, it can be enhanced to industrial frame options for more durability and as a safer option.
