YouTube's 'Playables' offers 30+ arcade games playable online.
YouTube is enhancing its Premium subscription with new experimental features, including the ability for members to play games directly on the platform. Known for its significant role in the gaming world, YouTube now allows Premium users to enjoy over 30 arcade games within its Android, iOS, and Web apps, without the need for any downloads. This new gaming collection is called 'Playables'.
Last week, YouTube Premium members were notified about new features in the app. Subscribers now have the ability to activate 'Playables' on YouTube, allowing them to play games directly on the platform without downloading anything.
To play games on YouTube, open the app on Android or iOS, or visit the YouTube website. Look for a 'Playables' section by scrolling down the homepage or find it in the explore menu of the app. To access these games, you need to enable the 'Play games on YouTube' option in the experimental new features section. On mobile, tap your profile icon, select 'Your Premium benefits,' and then choose 'Try experimental new features' to activate this option.
What Playables going to offer?
Playables currently offers 37 games, encompassing various genres. This includes action games such as Angry Birds Showdown and Cannon Balls 3D, puzzles like Daily Crossword and Brain Out, as well as card games including Daily Solitaire and Gin Rummy.
It's important to note that this feature is available to Premium members until March 28. There's potential for Playables to expand its reach to more subscribers and possibly introduce additional premium games in the future, similar to the Netflix Games service.
YouTube has introduced another experimental feature for Premium subscribers called AI-powered comments summaries, available until December 5. This AI tool organizes and summarizes the comments on YouTube videos with extensive comment sections.
Users can access this on the YouTube Android and iOS apps by selecting to sort comments by topics. It's important to note that subscribers can only enable one experimental feature at a time. Therefore, to use the AI comment summaries, users must disable the Playables feature.
This month, YouTube extended its enhanced bitrate option for 1080p videos to Premium users, broadening the feature beyond its initial availability on iOS. It is now accessible on Android devices and smart TVs as well.
In India, YouTube Premium offers various pricing options. A 12-month plan is priced at Rs. 1,290, and there's a three-month plan available for Rs. 399. For those preferring shorter commitments, a one-month pre-paid plan is offered at Rs. 139. Additionally, a recurring monthly subscription is available at Rs. 129 per month, following a one-month free trial.
