Sugata Bhattacharya

Learning and Development Lead
About

After a stint in the BPO industry, Sugata followed his boss advice, considering a career in Training and Development. He joined 2COMS, a recruitment and staffing company in Kolkata, where he honed his training skills whilst preparing rejected interview candidates from various international BPOs such as Wipro, Genpact, IBM and Capgemini, amongst others, to reappear for interviews following a two-week bridge training course authored by a training consultant and Sugata. The success of the newly developed bridge-training programme, put 2COMS on the Training and Development map. Following this Sugata took time out from his professional career to set up his own business which he developed from a small automotive service station situated on a major arterial road to a Bosch authorized workshop. In 2010, having successfully set up his business, Sugata joined Bizzmind Spectrum, a training companyserving Haldia Institute of Technology. Here he was assigned to lead the Life Skills team responsible for imparting training to a fully functional Tata Consultancy Services (ILP) batch comprising 750 participants. During the assignment, Sugata became increasingly interested in Learning and Development, and in 2012, Sugata joined a start-up, PlantLearn Edventures, with one of the senior HR professionals he had worked with during the TCS ILP. Spending the next decade learning, researching and experimenting within the Learning and Development field, he found his calling in the Edtech industry, specifically in the Blended Learning area. An automotive systems engineer from Kingston University, certified in High Impact Teaching skills by Dale Carnegie and Wipro Mission 10X, Sugata, considers himself immensely privileged to have been educated in several countries by exceptional educators, and professionally mentored and guided later on in life, by equally exceptional industry experts, to whom he attributes his ability to craft memorable learning experiences. A self-confessed movie and documentary buff, Sugata regularly shares reviews on films and series and recounts captivating stories on his Blogs.
